Iaijutsu.
Iaijutsu
is a form of the classical Japanese arts of swordsmanship.
Training involves, among other activities, batto
(sword-drawing), kumitachi (one-on-one techniques),
suburi (sword exercises), and tameshigiri
(test cutting). Shinken (live-bladed swords), and
bokken (wooden swords), are used in training.
Sekiguchi Sensei feels good technique is enhanced and elevated
by a regular fitness program and warns of the dangers of not
practicing regularly
What
are the benefits of Iaijutsu?
Komei
Juku Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaijutsu will help you to develop
over time:
- Concentration
- Self-Discipline
- Respect
for others
- Fitness
- Awareness
- Confidence
- Responsibility
- Martial
skill
However,
as important as knowing and understanding the techniques of
Muso Jikinden Eishin Ryu, is having the appropriate mindset
and attitude towards training. Sekiguchi Sensei believes that
training in iai prepares the students to deal more efficiently
with the events in ones life. Having higher expectations of
yourself than of others, nurtures personal and human relationships
for example. When we strive for high personal performance
we in turn, as we improve, become more useful to others whether
it be in the dojo or in our routine lives
